Hylope is opening up

After months of private beta, Hylope is opening to more people. What it is, why we built it, and how it's different.

Hylope brings the best creative AI models on the market together in one app, to create images, videos and more. But that’s not why we built it. AI is becoming a commodity, and the same models are now available in many places, locally or in the cloud.

Most services focus on the generation step, and give you a prompt bar to drive it. But by the nature of AI, we generate a lot: hundreds, then thousands of assets across projects in just a few days. Art directors end up curating as much as directing, and it quickly becomes overwhelming to dig through folders of downloaded files and remember how each one was made.

Two portraits and two outfits, combined into one shot, then turned into video, with every step still connected.

We wanted something easier and faster, that looks and behaves like a professional creative tool while being pleasant to use. The prompt bar is still there, but it’s optional, and it comes with features of its own that help you build complex visuals with more control.

An ecosystem of connected apps

Hylope gives you several ways to create and organize your generations. At the core is the gallery: it holds your references and generations, and it’s available instantly in every app, so switching between them never means reloading anything.

Generate an image in Create, organize it in Gallery, edit it in Compose, build a procedural workflow in Nodes, and share it with a client in Share. Every app follows the same logic, so the whole thing feels like one tool.

Snippets

Snippets let you build your own library of reusable text components, sorted into colour-coded categories and shared with the members of your workspace. They’re designed to be used entirely from the keyboard while you type: with tokens like @lighting, @framing, @fx and many more, you compose complex prompts visually, and much faster.

You get hundreds of presets on top of your own, and swapping one part of a prompt becomes genuinely easy. Instead of handing the creative writing to an agent and hoping you know what ended up in those long paragraphs, you take back control of your prompt’s structure, and you can see how it works at a glance. When you want to take a prompt further, you can still use an LLM inside the prompt bar to improve it, with the context of what you’re working on.

Learn more about snippets

In the following article, we dig into what snippets are and how to use them to get precise control over your generations.

The gallery is at the heart of Hylope, and you can reach it directly from every app. It’s built to be fast and fluid, and it helps you organize your generations by project and subfolder.

Key assets at the top, assets with a status in their own row, and everything else grouped into stacks.

Stacks

We often generate many visuals from the same prompt, to compare models or try different seeds, and the gallery gets flooded quickly. Hylope automatically groups the generations that share a prompt or the same references, and shows them as interactive stack cards across every gallery.

Status

Give an asset a status to set aside the generations that are good, or might be useful later. They’re colour-coded so you can find them quickly, and they’re taken out of their stacks so they don’t get lost in a folder.

Batch operations

Select several assets at once and act on all of them together: compare them, turn the selection into a collage moodboard, download them, move them to another project, and more.

Lineage

Every generation in Hylope keeps its history. Create a portrait in Avatar mode, use it in a visual, upscale that visual, use the upscaled image in a video generation, then edit the video. Nothing is lost, and you can explore the full lineage of any asset visually, in a way that’s fast and satisfying.

One character's history, from a single source image to outfits, videos and new scenes.

You can reload any generation at any time. You’re taken straight back to the mode it was made in, with the same prompt and settings, ready to try again with a change, or on a newer model.

Versions and Key Assets

Any asset can have new versions. Open an image in Quick Edit, make a change with the manual tools or with AI, save it, and you have a V2. Not happy with it? Go back to V1 in one click and edit again, and you’ll get a V3, and so on.

The best part is that every version stays attached to its asset, and you can see them all in one place. If you reload a generation whose reference has a newer version, Hylope tells you, so you can update it in one click and generate again.

Need the same reference often, like a character or a location? Make it a Key Asset in your project. A Key Asset has a name and a category, and you can add new versions or variants to it at any time. If a character wears several outfits in a film, create one Key Asset for the character, with a variant for each outfit. When you need them, the character’s card carries every variant, and you just pick the one you want.

These are more advanced concepts, but our upcoming tutorials will show how easy they are to use.

Young, but built to last

Hylope is new, but it isn’t a prototype. Your workspace lives in the region you choose, Europe, North America or Asia-Pacific, with its database, file storage and generation queue all in the same place. That’s most of the reason the app stays fast wherever you work from. Every file is also backed up with a second, independent storage provider.

Getting started

Hylope works differently from the platforms you may be used to, but once you get the hang of it, there’s a good chance you’ll like it. To show you how it works and what you can do with each app, we’re recording a series of tutorials. Here are the latest:

This is the beginning

We’ll send invitations in batches every week, because we want to grow steadily, stay stable, and listen to your feedback along the way. Hylope 1.0 comes with a lot of features and new ways to work with AI models, and more modes are on the way.

Hylope is designed to evolve into a central hub for your creative work. Our vision is that wherever and however you create, you should be able to track your asset versions, organize your projects, and get feedback from your clients easily.

Today we run in the cloud and integrate with Photoshop. Our goal is to add import and export wherever they make sense in the production workflows we’re all moving into. The philosophy won’t change with future updates: fast, enjoyable to use, and never in your way.
